Religious Education

The Religious Education and Faith Formation program at St. Joseph Parish in Prescott, Wisconsin is dedicated to nurturing faith at every stage of life. Rooted in Catholic teaching and guided by prayer, our program supports children, youth, and families as they grow in their understanding of Scripture, the Sacraments, and life as disciples of Christ. Through age-appropriate instruction, community involvement, and a strong partnership with parents, we strive to help each participant develop a lasting and meaningful relationship with God.

Religious Education Classes

  • Wednesday Classes

    Grades 1-5 (who are not currently attending St. Joseph's School):


    Classes are held on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:40 pm at St. Joseph School. Bus transportation is available from Malone Elementary and Malone Intermediate schools. Students will then need to be picked up from St. Joseph School at 4:40.


    Grades 6-8


    Classes are held on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:00 pm at St. Joseph School. 


    Grades 9-10 (Confirmation prep)


    Grade 9 classes are held on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:00 pm at St. Joseph School. 


    Grade 10 classes are held on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:00 pm in the St. Joseph Parish Gathering Space. 

  • First Reconciliation & Holy Communion

    First Reconciliation & Holy Communion 

    First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion preparation classes are held for grade 2 on Wednesdays. First Holy Communion will be held in the Spring. 

  • Confirmation

    Confirmation preparation classes are held for grades 9-10 on Wednesdays. Confirmation mass is held in the fall for juniors. 

  • Sunday School

    For children ages 4 to 6 years old, including those in Kindergarten. Held during the Sunday 10:00 am Masses, during the school year. To register please fill out the Sunday School Registration Form and submit the $35 fee to the parish office.

Youth Ministry

    Our youth ministry program at St. Joseph aims to inspire kids and teens to know, love, and serve God. In collaboration with St. Francis in Ellsworth, we meet monthly for food, faith, and fun nights where we grow in friendship and learn more about our Catholic beliefs.     Upcoming Event: Our next event will be a Youth Night of food, faith, and fun at St. Joseph in the parish gathering space on Feb. 8 at 4-6PM. All 4th - 12th graders are welcome to attend. We'll serve dinner, play active games, and learn about our faith.

Adventure Camp Summer 2026

Cost: $450 per person ($100 non-refundable deposit due now, much of the rest will be fundraised)

Dates: July 26-31, 2026 (leave after 8:30a Mass, return Friday by 4pm) 

Grades: 6th thru 12th gr.

Where: CrossWoods Adventure Camp, Mason, WI

(3 hrs north of Ellsworth on Hwy 63, In middle of Chequamegon/Nicolett National Forest). We ride a bus with St. Josephs, Prescott, WI to camp and back).

Mission Trip Summer 2026

Cost: $495 per person (bus costs are additional)($100 non-refundable deposit due now, much of the rest will be fundraised)

Dates: July 5-11, 2026

Grades: 9th thru 12th gr.

Where: Lenexa/Kansas City, KS (through Catholic Heart Work Camp). We are going with 2 other parishes from the Diocese of Superior (St. Annes, Somerset, WI and Immaculate Conception, New Richmond, WI)
